2026 Tengchong Scientists Forum Launches in Chuxiong: Government-Industry-Academia-Research Collaboration Drives Technological Breakthrough in Botanical Pesticides
Release time: 2026/06/17

On June 15, the 2026 Tengchong Scientists Forum · Traditional Chinese Medicine Modernization (Chuxiong) Thematic Event officially opened. On the same day, Yunnan Summit Biotech Co., Ltd. formally signed an agreement with the Institute of Advanced Carbon Conversion Technology at Huaqiao University to jointly establish the Rao Xiaoping Expert Workstation under the Yunnan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, and launched the "Terpene Alcohol and Citronellol Sustained-Release Technology R&D Project."

Both parties will leverage their respective strengths to address the industry pain points of botanical pesticides—namely, "short persistence and susceptibility to degradation"—by jointly tackling microencapsulation, nanotechnology, and matrix-loaded sustained-release technologies. They aim to achieve breakthroughs in 1 to 2 core processes within three years, while generating integrated outcomes covering patents, standards, and talent development.

This collaboration fully harnesses Huaqiao University's research capabilities and Yunnan Summit Biotech's industrial advantages, striving to bridge the "last mile" from laboratory to production line and promote the implementation of advanced technologies in Yunnan.

Currently, the Chuxiong Prefecture Science and Technology Bureau has explicitly stated that it will give priority recommendation for the workstation to be included in the planning of the Yunnan Provincial Department of Science and Technology, laying the groundwork for the project to secure provincial-level policy and financial support in the future.

Immediately after the signing ceremony, Teacher Ye from Huaqiao University traveled to Yunnan Summit Biotech's Shuangbai factory and the Yakou Australian tea tree planting base to provide on-site technical guidance, offering frontline support for the project's implementation and progress.
